The nuts are on the wrong side of the fixed end block !

Actually I do use pieces of plywood to put underneath the bar because
the metal was scratching the table. You saw that right! :-) I just
don't glue them to the bars because that would prevent me from taking of
the moving blocks.
The T-part of the spindle isn't to long. Maybe it looks that way in
the video but they're only outside the table because the table was to
small
To prevent metal parts of your nicely designed clamp from scratching
your table surface, also to make the clamp lay level on table, here’s
an idea:
1. Adhere two pieces of plywood at each end of the bar, on the notches side. Or, deepen the notches enough.
2. Shorten the T part of the spindle enough to prevent the tips from reaching table surface.
